Michael Rasekhi is a highly experienced medical professional whose career has been defined by significant contributions to healthcare. As the former Chief Medical Officer and Funder of Southern California Medical Center (SCMC) from 2010 to 2024, he was an enduring trailblazer in community health. Under his visionary leadership, SCMC transformed from a family practice clinic, which he founded in 1994 in East Los Angeles, into a nonprofit Federally Qualified Health Center in California. His mission was clear: to ensure the community remained healthy beyond his own life cycle. Prior to this, from 1994 to 2010, he served as Medical Director for R & B Medical Group, where he managed three medical offices and directed medical providers and their employees. His educational background includes an Internal Medicine Residency at King’s Drew Medical Center (1990-1992) and an Internal Medicine Internship at Sunny Brooklyn, NY (1980-1990), following his medical education at Pahlavi University, Iran (1971-1979). He is Board Certified by the American Board of International Medicine and is an MACP member, reflecting his ongoing dedication to medical excellence and continuous professional development.
